{"id":2,"date":"2026-07-30T10:34:07","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T10:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drivenbysisu.com\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2026-07-31T11:12:03","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T11:12:03","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/drivenbysisu.com\/?page_id=2","title":{"rendered":"ABOUT"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Built on Finnish Sisu<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DrivenBySISU <\/strong>is more than a training project, a race calendar or a social media account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a story about two people who discovered that some of life&#8217;s most meaningful experiences happen when you step outside your comfort zone and commit to something bigger than yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We believe that ordinary people are capable of extraordinary things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not because conditions are perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not because motivation is always there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But because they choose to keep moving forward when things become difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is what Sisu means to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that is what DrivenBySISU is all about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Story<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of life&#8217;s most important journeys begin unexpectedly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We met later in life through a chance encounter, but from the very beginning there was a strong connection between us. Our values, outlook on life and long-term goals aligned naturally, creating a foundation built on trust, mutual respect and a shared desire to live life to its fullest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long before HYROX entered the picture, we enjoyed being active together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Training became a natural part of our relationship, providing an opportunity to challenge ourselves, support each other and spend meaningful time together. What started as shared workouts gradually evolved into a more structured and goal-oriented journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then came an impulsive idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What if we tried HYROX?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like many of the adventures in our lives, it started as a spontaneous decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That decision eventually became the foundation of DrivenBySISU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meet Sami<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sami is a 45-year-old engineer working as a sourcing manager in the industrial sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His work involves demanding schedules, large-scale projects and constant prioritisation. Combined with family life and parenting teenage and &#8220;young adult&#8221; children, free time is often limited and carefully planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the challenges of balancing work, family and training, staying physically active has always been an important part of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sami&#8217;s sporting background includes strength training, trail running and a wide variety of recreational team sports. Today HYROX is complemented by golf in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When asked about his greatest sporting achievement, Sami does not mention race results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, he points to something much more valuable:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Maintaining a strong level of physical fitness throughout adulthood and reaching the age of 45 without a single broken bone.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His current goal is to continue improving aerobic fitness while training smart enough to stay healthy for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Sami, Sisu means perseverance, humility and the willingness to continue moving forward despite setbacks, obstacles and unexpected challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meet Katja<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Katja is a 46-year-old construction and project management consultant leading demanding technical projects across Finland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The role requires extensive travel, problem-solving, adaptability and the ability to perform under pressure. These same qualities are reflected in Katja&#8217;s approach to training and competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like Sami, Katja is also a parent of teenage and young adult children, making the balance between work, family and sport a daily challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Katja&#8217;s sporting background is exceptionally diverse. Over the years it has included strength training, running, cross-country skiing, floorball, ringette and football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today HYROX, floorball and skiing remain key parts of an active lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>One of Katja&#8217;s proudest sporting achievements is recovering from significant sports injuries and returning to excellent physical condition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Katja, Sisu means committed and determined pursuit of ambitious goals and the willingness to push beyond what initially seems possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Training with Purpose<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the beginning, our approach has been structured and data-driven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While neither of us are professional athletes, we take training seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our training plans are built using a combination of performance data, recovery metrics and AI-assisted analysis. By utilizing real-world training data and measured performance indicators, every training block is designed to support our goals while respecting the realities of everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some workouts are completed together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Others are completed individually around work schedules, travel and family commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We do not train under perfect conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We train under real-life conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And we believe that makes the journey more meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More Than a Race<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HYROX is the challenge that currently brings us together on race day, but it represents something much bigger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the center of our lives are our children, our family, our relationship and the experiences we create together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We share a passion for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Travel and discovering new places<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Live music and memorable events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outdoor adventures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New challenges<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spontaneous ideas that turn into unforgettable experiences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HYROX has become a perfect combination of many things we value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It gives us a reason to train together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A reason to travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A reason to explore new cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A reason to continue learning about ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And most importantly, a reason to create new memories together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why We Created DrivenBySISU<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We created DrivenBySISU to share a realistic journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not the polished version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not the perfect version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The real version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The early mornings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The missed workouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The successful races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The setbacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lessons learned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The constant balancing act between careers, family life and ambitious goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our hope is to inspire others who are trying to pursue meaningful goals while living a full and busy life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do not need unlimited time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do not need perfect facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do not need perfect circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You only need the courage to take the next step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Philosophy<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Motivation gets you started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Goals give you direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Discipline keeps you consistent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But eventually, every journey reaches a point where motivation fades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is where Sisu begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sisu is choosing to continue when nobody is watching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sisu is showing up when conditions are not perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sisu is taking one more step when you think you have nothing left to give.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When motivation ends, Sisu begins.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udd25 <strong>DrivenBySISU<\/strong><br><em>Built on Finnish Sisu.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Built on Finnish Sisu DrivenBySISU is more than a training project, a race calendar or a social media account.
