Our First Official HYROX Race

Every journey needs a destination.

For us, that destination is HYROX Karlsruhe, taking place on 1 October 2026 in Germany.

Interestingly, Karlsruhe was never supposed to be our second HYROX race. It became our first.

When HYROX Helsinki was organized in May 2026, the Mixed Doubles race day happened to fall on Mother’s Day in Finland. The decision was easy.

Family comes first. Some priorities are more important than race calendars.

Rather than waiting for a more convenient opportunity, we decided to do something different.

We chose to jump straight into the deep end. Our first official HYROX race will take place abroad, in a country where neither of us has raced before. It combines two things we genuinely enjoy: challenging ourselves physically and exploring new places together. In many ways, that feels perfectly aligned with what DrivenBySISU is all about.

The Adventure Has Already Started

Race day may still be ahead of us, but the journey is already well underway.

"✅" Race entry secured
"✅" Flights booked
"✅" Train tickets booked
"✅" Hotel reserved
"✅" Training plan in motion

The only thing left is the most important part:

earning the fitness required to perform when race day arrives.

Every run, every workout, every recovery session, and every early morning alarm is part of the process.

The foundation is now being built.

Chasing SUB75

Like every worthwhile challenge, this one comes with a goal.

Our target for HYROX Karlsruhe is simple: SUB75.

Completing the Mixed Doubles race in under 75 minutes will require consistency, discipline, and months of focused training.

It is an ambitious target for our first official HYROX race, but that is exactly why it motivates us.

The objective is not only to cross the finish line.

The objective is to become stronger, fitter, faster, and more resilient throughout the journey.

More Than a Finish Time

Road to Karlsruhe is about much more than a race result.

It is about proving to ourselves that demanding careers, family responsibilities, travel, and everyday life do not have to prevent us from pursuing meaningful goals.

It is about demonstrating that improvement is possible at any age.

Most importantly, it is about embracing the process.

  • The great training sessions.

  • The difficult training sessions.

  • The setbacks.

  • The lessons learned.

    And everything in between.

Because real progress is rarely linear.

    It is built through consistency.

    Follow the Journey

Every training session, simulation race, and race report brings us one step closer to the start line in Karlsruhe.

If you’d like to follow the journey, visit our Training Block section, where we share our preparation, key workouts, race simulations, performance insights, and lessons learned along the way.

    • The finish line is still ahead.

    • But the work has already begun.

    • One workout at a time.

    • One step at a time.

    • One day closer to Karlsruhe.
